How to fix Windows 11 (0xC004F050) error code
The (0xC004F050) error code usually means the edition of an OEM key does not match the edition of Windows that is already installed on the PC.
- Check which Windows 11 edition you have installed
In the Windows Search Bar type in “Activation Settings”, hit enter to open the Activation window.
Your installed edition is shown at the top of the window (highlighted in red below).
If the installed edition does not match the edition of an OEM key, this is what is causing the (0xC004F050) error code. - Fresh Windows 11 install
As an OEM key is licensed for system builders doing a fresh Windows 11 install on new hardware, one solution is to do a fresh Windows 11 install.
- Purchase a matching key
Alternatively, you can purchase a key that matches the edition you already have installed on the PC.
If you have Windows 11 Home, you will require a Windows 11 Home key.
If you have Windows 11 Pro, you will require a Windows 11 Pro key.
If you have Windows 11 Pro for Workstations, you will require a Windows 11 Pro for Workstations key.
If you have Windows 11 Enterprise, you will require a Windows 11 Enterprise key.
