Large Address Aware in Access

The 32-bit version of Access for Microsoft 365 has been enhanced with Large Address Aware (LAA) support.

This update increases the maximum address space available to Access from 2 GB to 4 GB when running on a 64-bit version of Windows, making it particularly beneficial for handling complex Access applications.

Code Sign Your Microsoft Access Database and VBA Code

The Tools/Digital Signature command is now enabled in the VBA (Visual Basic for Applications) Integrated Development Environment (IDE) for current Microsoft Access database formats.

Digitally signing a database ensures that VBA code within it can run even when Trust Center settings require digitally signed code to be enabled.

Open Queries in SQL View from the Navigation Pane

A new right-click menu option has been added for query objects in the Navigation Pane.

You can now select SQL View directly from the menu, bypassing the need to first open the query in Datasheet View or Design View.

Suppress Linked Table Design View Warnings

An update allows you to suppress the warning message that appears when opening a linked table in Design View.

You can now select Don’t show this message again in the warning prompt.

To re-enable these confirmations, go to File > Options > Client Settings and check the Linked/ReadOnly tables option under the Confirm section.

The maximum number of open tables has been increased from 2,048 to 4,096. Additionally, the maximum number of available connections has doubled, from 256 to 512.
